About Biomedicine Journal

Our Mission

Biomedicine Journal is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal that serves as a platform for the dissemination of high-impact research across the breadth of biomedical science. Established with the conviction that rigorous scientific inquiry should be freely accessible to all, the journal has grown to become a trusted venue for researchers, clinicians, and scholars seeking to publish and discover work that advances human health.

The mission of Biomedicine Journal is to accelerate the translation of biomedical knowledge into tangible improvements in human health. We achieve this by publishing scientifically excellent, ethically sound, and clearly communicated research that bridges the gap between laboratory discovery and clinical practice. We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive, global research community where investigators from all regions and institutional backgrounds can share their findings with a worldwide audience.

Aims and Scope

Biomedicine Journal publishes high-quality original research articles, comprehensive reviews, short communications, and case reports that bridge the gap between fundamental biological discovery and clinical application. The scope of the journal encompasses the following core areas:

Translational Medicine: Studies that convert findings from basic laboratory research into practical clinical applications, including biomarker discovery, drug target validation, preclinical model development, and early-phase therapeutic evaluation. We particularly welcome work that demonstrates a clear pathway from bench-side investigation to patient benefit.

Molecular and Cellular Biology: Research addressing the molecular mechanisms underlying human health and disease, including gene regulation, signal transduction, epigenetics, proteomics, metabolomics, and cell biology. Studies employing cutting-edge techniques such as CRISPR-based genome editing, single-cell sequencing, or structural biology are especially encouraged.

Clinical Research: Observational and interventional studies, clinical trials, epidemiological investigations, and diagnostic evaluations across all medical specialties. The journal values research that directly informs clinical decision-making, improves patient outcomes, or advances public health understanding.

Biomedical Engineering and Technology: Innovations in medical devices, diagnostic platforms, computational biology, bioinformatics, artificial intelligence in healthcare, and tissue engineering that have demonstrable relevance to human medicine.

Pharmacology and Therapeutics: Original investigations into drug mechanisms, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, novel therapeutic modalities including gene therapy and immunotherapy, and adverse drug reaction studies.

Peer Review Process

Biomedicine Journal employs a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the scientific quality, originality, and significance of all published content. Neither the identities of the authors nor those of the reviewers are disclosed during the evaluation process.

Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial editorial screening to assess its suitability for the journal, adherence to formatting guidelines, and compliance with ethical standards. Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to a minimum of two and, in most cases, three independent expert reviewers with relevant subject-matter expertise. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript on the basis of originality, methodological rigour, clarity of presentation, validity of conclusions, and relevance to the journal scope.

The typical peer review cycle is six to eight weeks from the date of submission. Authors receive a consolidated decision letter incorporating reviewer comments and the editorial recommendation. The final acceptance or rejection decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief or the handling Associate Editor, informed by the reviewers assessments.

Publication Frequency

Biomedicine Journal is published quarterly, with four issues released per year in March, June, September, and December. In addition to the regular quarterly issues, accepted articles are published on an online-first basis as they become available, ensuring timely dissemination of research findings without delay.

Open Access Policy

Biomedicine Journal is committed to the principle that unrestricted access to scholarly research accelerates scientific discovery and promotes global health equity. All articles published in this journal are made freely and immediately available to readers worldwide without any subscription barrier, registration requirement, or paywall.

Published content is distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC-BY 4.0), which permits anyone to copy, distribute, display, and create derivative works from the content, provided that the original authors and source are properly credited.

The journal does not charge article processing charges (APCs), submission fees, or any other publication-related costs to authors. This no-fee policy reflects our commitment to removing financial barriers to both the publication and consumption of scientific knowledge. Authors retain full copyright of their work while granting the journal the right of first publication.

Archiving and Preservation

Biomedicine Journal is committed to the long-term preservation and accessibility of its published content. The journal participates in two major digital archiving initiatives:

LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe): Through participation in the LOCKSS programme, the journal content is distributed across a global network of partner libraries, each maintaining a persistent cached archive that is continuously validated against other nodes.

CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe): The journal also participates in the CLOCKSS dark archive system, which provides a geographically distributed, redundant preservation infrastructure. In the event that content becomes unavailable through the journal primary platform, CLOCKSS ensures that a free, complete copy can be released to the public.

Core Values

The journal is guided by the following core values: scientific rigour, upheld through a thorough double-blind peer review process; transparency, in editorial decision-making and conflict-of-interest disclosure; accessibility, ensured through open licensing and the absence of publication fees; and diversity, promoted by engaging an international editorial board and welcoming submissions from researchers across all geographies and career stages.

Quality Assurance

All manuscripts undergo rigorous double-blind peer review by experts in the relevant field. The journal adheres to the highest standards of publication ethics as outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). We invite researchers, clinicians, and scholars to submit their best work and join us in building a body of knowledge that serves the global biomedical community.
